Tech Tip: Canvas Dashboard


This week, I chose to explore the Tech Tip regarding the Canvas Dashboard. I think it is nice that you can customize the title and color/picture of the courses on your dashboard. I do wish there was a way you could rearrange the courses/cards into the order you would like them. I think it would also be neat if we could create folders that could include multiple courses like you can with apps on the iPhone.

    Hi Jarad! I just happened to notice your post and I wanted to say that YES, this is something Canvas is going to have, and probably pretty soon, like maybe even next semester? If not, I hope it will be next year at the latest. The Canvas Community is a place where users can suggest ideas, and MANY people agree with you; this idea has gotten a lot of votes. So, fingers crossed, this will be possible soon: Reorder Dashboard. If you have other ideas about how to improve Canvas, students can participate in the Canvas Community too. I guess the Community is my favorite feature of Canvas since it is really cool that the company is listening to us and implements a lot of our ideas! :-)

Updated in my Portfolio  The Amazed Chemist There was once a world-renown chemist who was studying the most molecular aspects of the world in which we know. For several months the chemist’s research and experiments continued to fail. Just as he was about to give up, he decided to try just one more thing. Seclusion. The chemist decided he needed to clear his mind. He needed to escape society. For hours he traveled until he came upon a small, remote town shrouded by tall mountains and vast forests.
